A New Voice for
Montgomery County

Together, we can make a difference!

My Vision

My vision for Montgomery County is one of an inclusive community that opens its arms to all, continues to have a world-class educational system and a thriving economy, builds a multi-modal transportation system that reduces traffic congestion and provides services that meet the needs of residents of all ages. As county executive, I will promote policies and programs that advance these broad themes while doing so in a fiscally responsible manner.

About Me

I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee where I was an active participant in the Civil Rights struggle. I worked in my first political campaign when I was only eleven years old.  In high school, I was involved in the fight to prevent the construction of Interstate 40 through Overton Park, the largest park in Memphis. Although the battle went all the way to the Supreme Court, we won!  I then attended Washington University in St. Louis, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Political Science. I completed my Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Why Vote For Rose?

I've been a resident of Montgomery county for 37 years, and during that time I have always given back to my community. Whether I was serving as Mayor of Rockville, helping local non-profits, or working as the Deputy Director of the Montgomery County Planning Department, my goal has always been to improve the quality of life for all.

We are fortunate to live in such a wonderful place, but our future does not look as promising as it once did. Our schools are overcrowded, and our transit and road options are not sufficient to keep up with our needs, but these are not unusual issues. The problem is that our tax base has not been growing enough to enable us to make the improvements we need. Montgomery County is a great place to live, but we have not shown ourselves to be business friendly. As a result, too many businesses are going elsewhere, which has caused the tax burden on our residents to go up — dramatically!

It is time for a new voice. Overwhelming passage of the term limit bill clearly indicated that our current leadership wasn’t getting the job done. I have a long record of accomplishment, and I am known as a straight shooter who wants to work with each and every one of you to come up with more creative and interactive ways to move our county forward. Common sense and fiscal responsibility are my buzzwords. I hope you will support me in this effort by contributing to my campaign or signing up to help me in a myriad of ways. Together, we can make a difference!
