The Top (and only) "Green Light" rating from Transportation Alliance
I'm honored to have received the top – and only – "Green Light" rating among all of the County Executive candidates from the Suburban Maryland Transportation Alliance, which you can read more about on their website. We must have someone in the County Executive office who will improve transportation across all of Montgomery County. I believe we need:
Experience and expertise
Because I served 8 years on the Transportation Planning Board of the Washington Metropolitan Council of Governments and as the Deputy Director of Planning for Montgomery County, I have the expertise to reduce traffic throughout the county.
Reduced road traffic
We've allowed growth to move forward without building the promised infrastructure. I support efforts to add some additional road capacity, such as the Mid-County Highway, as long as steps are taken to limit negative impacts.
Better mass transit options
The Purple Line will be just the beginning of transit improvements. We can also fund the Corridor Cities Transitway using a public-private partnership and expand transit options that will reduce traffic and protect the environment.
If you haven't already voted, I hope you will cast your vote for me on June 26th.
